Preparing Flipped Classroom Materials

  Hello! Welcome back! In this post I’ll tell you about my introduction to the flipped classroom approach and the assignment I did on it. Firstly, let’s talk about the approach. Flipped classroom is an approach that allocates the in-class time to activities while the instruction is done outside of the classroom beforehand. This approach can have advantages for language classes. Since the in-class time is only for the activities, the students will be able to get feedback and scaffolding from the instructor instantly, which are critical to second language learning. It will also be possible for the instructor to assess the students’ use of the language much further in the classroom. After learning about the approach, we were assigned to prepare a video, based on either grammar or vocabulary, for a flipped classroom. A Corpus Project

Welcome Back! After a year, I am back to tell you about a new assignment I've done in a new course. In this course, Current Issues in ELT, we were supposed to create a corpus-based teaching material as a part of our final grade. So, I partnered up with İrem Çınar and we chose to design a material on "will" and "be going to" in English. Our objective, with this material, was to help students make the distinction between the use of these two items and our target audience was high school students. We focused on the functions and asked the students to pay attention to it during their corpus research. We designed the material simultaneously, using Canva .  See you next time!
